Anna Begins....again

Seems like I should say how sad loss makes me feel. Everyday I lose a little bit of something and I'm ok with that but every so often, it's something big. I'm never ready for those days, they hit me like a ton of bricks and I never fully recover.

We're always changing.

Treasure

Rarest of all Earth’s treasures
You, my friend have always weathered
The cold and the rain for me

Like an uncut diamond
Your strength unmoved
Your beauty uncovered
Lying patiently in the depths

Your worth soon discovered
Your sparkle immense
Still able to weather the storms

A break in the clouds

Just enough to let the sun shine through. What a nice feeling it is to have the warmth on your face. I've been cold.

Right before my eyes

The year is flying by just as they always do, my baby (who is now 18) is graduating from high school in June. Yes, I know...I'm old! I wish there was a pause button so we could keep them little for as long as we wanted. So many hopes and dreams we have for them, watching them learn all the lessons that life has to teach and then it suddenly hits you one day that they really are no longer a kid. I am so proud of the man he is growing up to be.

To love...

is to want to give and above all give oneself. A perfect love is the perfect gift of oneself without thought of reward or return.

Girls night out

Friday night my friend Helen came over with two packs of Bacardi Mojitos for her and two packs B&J Pomegranate/Rasberry wine coolers for me...MMMM. According to her we needed to get drunk, I didn't protest :p. After we had a few bottles each we watched a pretty good movie then she tells me that we're going out tomorrow night because we need to let loose every once in awhile, she had invited her mom to join us and Lisa decided to come along as well so it turned into a girl's night out.

I'm so glad I went...we had a great time. We went to a Puerto Rican restaurant called Coco's. The food was orgasmic. Coming from me that says a lot ;). The atmosphere was perfect, very relaxed and friendly and the music and art completed the whole experience.

After leaving the restaurant we went to a nice Latin bar & grill called Tumbao. Another place I'd highly recommend. The band was shake your booty amazing and the drinks were nice and strong. What I liked most about the place was the fact that there were people of all ages dancing and having a good time. It's not like one of those places you go to and feel out of place because the crowd is younger. I got home at 2am a little tipsy and a lot happy.

Hope you all had a good weekend too.
