A long overdue update

Not much exciting going on over here as of late but I've been pretty busy for someone who has nothing to do ;). Today was a really good day so I thought I'd post about it.

We went to Rosie's assembly at school. She was so adorable in her costume. She did a great job with her lines, she had to recite them in english and spanish.

After the assembly we took the kids to Navy Pier and saw two movies at the IMAX theatre. The first one was Roving Mars which was ok for like a school field trip. John got free passes for an special screening of Deep Sea 3D. Let me tell you it was fecking awesome. The kids loved it.

After that we walked around the Pier and watched some of the indoor entertainers and then went to BuildaBear. The kids had so much fun building a new friend.

Afterwards we went to dinner, and all was going well until Rosie started feeling sick and threw up in the bathroom. Now I have two pukey kids. Jonathan got sick yesterday and threw up in the van in the morning when we got to school. I think tomorrow they'll both be staying home.

Que es la fe?

Porque andas creyendo en otros
Es que acaso mis palabras
Son amargas en tu boca y en tu piel
Ponle credito a la angustia
Ponle peso a la balanza
Muestrame lo que es la fe

No News is Good News

I've been sick since saturday morning. I woke up at 4am with severe stomach pain and vomitting. I may have gotten something cleaning up the basement after the whole sewer back up. I can't seem to hold anything down so if it doesn't get better soon I'll go to the doctor.

Was in school most of the day today meeting with everyone about Jonathan. After two weeks of testing with the school Psychologist and interviews with the school Nurse, Social Worker, Counselor, Special Ed teacher and his homeroom teacher they've come up with a plan to give him the support he needs. I was worried about the whole labeling thing but my child is learning disabled and I know that he is really struggling in certain areas. I'm really happy though with the way they are all working together to make sure it doesn't disrupt his classroom time much. He has an amazing teacher, we were really blessed with her.

I haven't heard anything regarding that part time job yet so either it was filled or they just haven't gotten around to calling. Either way I'll send out an email tomorrow to inquire and maybe look for other part time positions with possible networking opportunities.

On the Homefront

Report card day was yesterday, all three kids did well. Josh has a 3.0GPA, Jonathan is showing good progress and Roselena is just a lil smarty. Jonathan is being tested for some extra help, I'm meeting with the school next week.

John's mom is doing excellent, we have a home health nurse come twice a week. The nurse has been great with getting the things that she needs which is very helpful to us. She is eating well and feeling better.

I'm taking a break from working on a cover letter. I'm applying for a part time position (2 days a week) at a real estate office. Business has been slow for me so this is a great way for me to network and get out of the house at the same time. Besides, I've seriously considered taking up real estate before so this is a good way to get my feet wet and check out the water.

Other than that, all is pretty quiet...knock on wood.
