I still get rounded down

Last night we went to see Lionel Richie perform at the Sears Centre. Let me tell you that I wasn't too thrilled about going to the concert but I was happy to be getting out...when you have kids even going to the grocery store is considered OUT.

Anyway, I was messing with John when I told him that because he is 5 years older than I am that this was probably way cooler for him than it was for me :p I know, I'm evil sometimes...but it's true, he gets rounded up to 40 while I still get rounded down to 30! At least for another 8 months or so ;).

Chaka Khan opened for him so we sorta HAD to endure her screeching for 40 minutes. She wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. I'm gonna blame her sound system just a lil. It took them an hour to take the stage down and prepare it for Lionel and his band so we got to enjoy the wonderful satay they were serving in the lounge area by the bar. What can I tell you I'm a sucker for Thai food.

I was hoping that he'd at least sing "Hello" because that song alone would have made the whole night worth it...and you know what, he began the concert with it. Who'd of guessed that he'd choose Hello to start the show *insert Anna is a retard look here*. Hehehe. So yeah, I was pleased with that. He sang a few old songs and yep as much as I tried not to I just had to sing along ;). Then he sang two of his new ones and of course he made sure to sing some from when he was in the Commodores. I'm going to reluctantly admit that I even knew most of those...with the exception of maybe one. OMG I really am old! He ended the concert with "All night long" which I danced to on the way out. It was a two hour show and I enjoyed almost all of it except the last half hour or so when this guy a few rows back, who had a bit too much to drink during the break, started screaming to the point where I finally had to turn around and politely ask him to shut the fuck up. Even with that, I'm glad I went because for the most part I had a nice time.

Insomnia

I lie in my bed, unable to sleep
distracted by reminders of you.
Your glass of water sits near the clock,
reflecting green numbers in the darkness.
The sound of your voice fills my mind,
sweet and seductive, the texture of feathers;
You speak my name and I cannot ignore.
Your scent on my pillow surrounds me as I toss,
drives me mad with desire.
Filling the blackness of my room,
images of you floating in the night.
You- Nestled next to me;
You- Legs wrapped around me
breathing silently into my chest in your sleep.
The feel of your pulse returns to me.
A faint memory on my fingertips.
Your eyelids fluttering beneath my lips.
The familiar touch of your hands at my sides.
Ecstasy
Agony
Brutal, sweet torture.
If I must endure this each night,
I pray that I never sleep again.

Horoscopes

Quickie: Do not try to push any of your relationships past their natural dynamic right now.

Overview: When you look back on this moment, you will want to be proud of how you behaved and the choices you made. Actually, that's a pretty good way to look at all the decisions you have to make these days.

Back it up

I know I've been slacking...I've had more than one person tell me that I need to post. I've been meaning to, I swear but I've just been feeling pretty yucky the past week. Sinus headaches...or at least that's what I'm guessing they were. I was sleeping a lot because of them. I'm feeling somewhat better so that's good.

Last week John took Jonathan to a Blackhawks game, they played the Montreal Canadiens...and won! Jonathan really enjoyed the game and it was nice that he got to spend some quality time with daddy. Roselena was super jealous so daddy has promised to take her somewhere special too. Just her and him ;).

My mom gave us a scare last week. She was in the hospital for a few days, thank goodness it turned out to be angina and nothing more severe. She's back at home doing her thing. We were worried that they might have to do angioplasty again, not the case...not yet anyway. She is doing her best to stay on the strict diet the cardiologist put her on and she's walking everyday. I'm walking with her...although I've missed some days due to me not feeling well.

In other news, my oldest son Josh has a gf, I knew this day was coming just not this soon. Thank goodness she's a smart girl (all honors classes) and she seems genuinely supportive and encouraging to him thus far. Her name is Lluvia, which is Rain in English and I'm looking forward to meeting her soon. I've been nosy, checking out his myspace...hey what I can I say that's what moms do ;).

The kids have picked out their costumes for Halloween, Jonathan was not leaving the store without getting a mask that spills blood through a heart pump *rolls eyes*. Yeah I caved but he didn't get the bloody knife, I just don't do weapons. Rosie picked a butterfly, it's simple and cute. Josh will be a wizard for the dance on friday night that he will be going to with his girlfriend (OMG, is that weird to say). I'll be sure to take some pics and post them.

After a few months of searching and being hit with several obstacles my friend Angie finally found a great job that she loves. I am so happy for her, she needed some good things to start happening for her. Now we just need to go out and celebrate!

Jamie and his wife Angela have been blessed with a precious little bundle of joy that they are caring for until they can adopt her. I am so excited for them.

Jenn and Les got married yesterday and I couldn't be happier for them. I wish I could have been there to witness it but I'll just be grateful they were able to do it all because they did have a last minute gliche.

This has been a tough year for many of us but it seems to be picking up...late, but that's better than never right?

FYI: I posted that translation for you Monette, it's in the comments. *wink* pssst, you still need to get me in the restricted area on that 3-D chat, I want some sexy lingerie too :P.

Nuestra Cancion

Quiero
Que me recuerdes
Con la cancion que nos hacía callar
Esa
Que nos decía
De que algún día la despedida tenía que llegar
No, no es un capricho
Tan solo es algo
Que te quiero yo pedir
Hoy para siempre y para que te acuerdes de mi

Adiós
Estoy muy triste
Pues hoy
Que tu te fuiste
Se oyó nuestra canción
Para que nunca la olvidaramos los dos

Adiós
Ya no podemos seguir, lo siento
No pude hacerte yo feliz, me voy
Pero me llevo yo de tí
El amor que por tí yo sentí
Busca en tus sueños y no pienses mas en mí

No pienses mas en mí

Woof Woof

Well, we are a one dog family again. My friend Angie and her children have Basha now. Her kids did not want her to go to a shelter so despite her asthma Angie took her. They really love her so she is in good hands. They have a big backyard and Basha knows them well and one of her older boys is very fond of her and is taking on most of the responsibility of walking her three times a day. My daughter misses Basha but is happy that she is somewhere we can visit her. We spent last weekend there and had a very nice time, we stayed up late and watched movies and had a BBQ on Sunday. Maybe this weekend we'll go back if Angie can handle us again ;).
Other than that there's nothing new or exciting going on over here. I've been less busy and kinda taking it easy since John's mom and aunt left to the Philippines. I have to clean out the guest room now just in case someone decides to visit. Too bad Rae and Ry aren't coming for Thanksgiving *glares at Jamie* I hear it's all your fault :P.

The weather has been pretty crazy though, thundertorms and tornado warnings. Last week I heard (for the first time in my life!) the tornado sirens going off, it took me a minute to figure out what the heck it was. Scared the crap out of the kids and poor Kyra, she hides when she hears thunder and lightening. It wasn't too bad today though, just a few drizzles.

I got a new cell phone, it's a Samsung and it sucks. I think I'm going to exchange it for the RAZR....my car radio still sucks and since I'm naming electronic devices that suck we also have my computer!

I haven't been online much so I haven't gotten to catch up with all my friends. I hope everyone is well and having a great week.

Horoscopes

Quickie: Use your excess energy -- jump into a stressful situation and help sort it out.

Overview: Sometimes the biggest stroke of luck can be not getting what you want. Think about it: If you get what you desire, it's only as good as your imagination made it. If you leave it up to the universe, it'll be a lot better.
